What is the best Bitcoin stock to buy?

There isn’t a single “best” Bitcoin stock—it depends on whether you want maximum Bitcoin exposure, lower risk, or growth potential. Here are some of the strongest options:

Company Why investors buy it Risk
Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) Holds the largest corporate Bitcoin treasury. Its stock often moves more than Bitcoin itself due to leverage. Very High
Coinbase Global (NASDAQ: COIN) Largest U.S. crypto exchange. Benefits from higher crypto trading activity and industry growth. High
MARA Holdings (NASDAQ: MARA) One of the largest Bitcoin mining companies. Very High
CleanSpark (NASDAQ: CLSK) Efficient Bitcoin miner with a reputation for operational discipline. High
Riot Platforms (NASDAQ: RIOT) Large U.S.-based Bitcoin mining company. High

If I had to choose just one

  • For aggressive investors: Strategy (MSTR) offers the strongest exposure to Bitcoin. If Bitcoin rises significantly, MSTR has historically tended to amplify those gains—but it can also fall much harder during downturns.
  • For a more balanced investment: Coinbase (COIN) provides exposure to the broader crypto ecosystem rather than just Bitcoin. Its revenue comes from trading, custody, staking, and other services.

If your goal is simply to own Bitcoin

Instead of a stock, many investors prefer a spot Bitcoin ETF, such as those from major asset managers. These generally track Bitcoin more directly without the additional company-specific risks (management decisions, mining costs, debt, etc.).

Bottom line

  • Highest Bitcoin exposure: Strategy (MSTR)
  • Best crypto business: Coinbase (COIN)
  • Best mining company: CleanSpark (CLSK) or MARA Holdings (MARA)
  • Most direct exposure with less company-specific risk: A spot Bitcoin ETF

As always, Bitcoin-related investments can be extremely volatile. If you’re investing for the long term, consider limiting Bitcoin-related holdings to a portion of a diversified portfolio rather than making them your entire investment.
